Ancient Darmshall

In the southern mountains of the continent, a towering edifice rises majestically against the sky. This is the fortress of Darmshall, a name etched in the annals of history and resonant with tales of valor, faith, and desolation.

Darmshall was constructed in the aftermath of the Age of Chaos, after the cataclysmic destruction of the city of Jyn-Pal in the year 15999. The city had been a battleground where Graceless Elves clashed with their former brethren in a ritualistic combat that escalated into uncontrolled devastation. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the demons and undead rose to inhabit the ruined city. Recognizing the threat these creatures posed to the rest of the world, a group of priests from the kingdom of Mercadia established Darmshall. These were no ordinary priests; they were followers of the human pantheon—comprising the goddess Adalia, the Healer; the goddess Kamalini, the Mother; the god Talathas, the Shepherd; and the god Kinurugi, the Father. Their objective was not merely to establish a stronghold against the waves of undead and demons emanating from Jyn-Pal, but also to create a bastion of hope for the faithful and a training ground for religious warriors. For several centuries, Darmshall served its purpose well. Under the constant vigilance of its warrior-priests, the fortress held firm against the nightmarish forces dwelling in the ruins of Jyn-Pal. Warriors were trained in the arts of combat and faith, guided by the principles of their pantheon.

Modern Darmshall

However, political strife within Mercadia in the year 16848 led to the fortress's abandonment. The once-great citadel fell into disrepair, its halls echoing with the absence of the faithful. The absence lasted for four decades until the year 16889, when the fortress saw a new dawn. Under the leadership of Lord Templar Tyrarius Ocarius, the Divine Order reclaimed and occupied Darmshall. Their arrival breathed new life into the ancient structure. The Divine Order had a focused mission—to wage a relentless battle against the enemies of the realm, particularly the Cult of Azamul, which they believed was a critical source of the world's chaos. Since then, Darmshall has become a beacon of courage and defiance. Even as the world around it changes, the fortress remains a constant reminder of its past, a testament to its resilience, and a promise of continued vigilance against the darkness that looms over the land.
