Note from Staff

These villages and settlements are intended to provide players with origins for Elves who do not hail from Arandor proper. They are not meant to be exhaustive, and players are welcome to explore their own ideas. If you’re interested in expanding the lore of one of these villages, you are encouraged to coordinate with the maintainers of the Wiki or use the forums to share your vision and collaborate with others. Also, these are meant to describe where your character comes from. They are not meant to tell you what to do or believe, with your character. That said, certain behaviors or beliefs your character exhibits in-game could potentially have very real and lasting consequences. There are no High Elf-specific villages or settlements because Arandor is a High Elven city. The Queen is a High Elf.

Elven Settlements

The Elven settlements across the realm—be they nestled in hills, hidden in ancient groves, or perched on sunlit plateaus—reflect the diversity and unity of the Elven people. Each of these communities tells a unique story of survival, artistry, and shared purpose. Though they differ in geography, culture, and local governance, all largely recognize the authority of the Monarch of Arandor as the sovereign of the Elven race. Local councils, clan elders, or wardens may administer daily affairs, but their loyalty to Arandor and its Monarch remains unwavering.

Hill Elf Settlements

  • Stonehearth: Nestled within the foothills of a long-extinct volcanic ridge, Stonehearth is a bastion of endurance. Its dwellings are carved directly into the warm stone, and its central forge has burned without pause for over a thousand years. Revered as the ancestral heart of Hill Elf smithing, Stonehearth trains elite shieldbearers and armorers in equal measure.
  • Brannor's Hold: A redoubt of strategic brilliance, Brannor’s Hold clings to the cliffside like a sentinel. Its narrow terraces are woven with signal lights and archer’s nests. During the Age of Chaos, it served as a retreat for the Queen’s scouts. Now, its priests and bow-masters train those who guard the northern skies.
  • Emberdeep: Hidden within a caldera warmed by volcanic veins, Emberdeep pulses with subterranean life. Glassmakers and enchanters here create dazzling works said to capture the glow of buried stars. A pilgrimage site for Hill Elves who revere the creative force of fire, it also trains elite weapon-crafters in the forge-arts.
  • Kireldan: Known as the Scroll of Stone, Kireldan is a center of Hill Elf lore. Etched into the cliffs that cradle it are thousands of ancestral stories and sacred oaths. Here, orators, sculptors, and scribes are trained to preserve Elven memory and law with stone-carved precision.
  • Dunebarrow: Perched on the edge of a vast desert Dunebarrow thrives amid scorching wind and salt-blasted stone. A haven for Hill Elf glaziers, it specializes in crystals and enchanted lenses. Its rangers patrol the desert’s edge, guiding caravans and keeping watch for buried threats.
  • Hearthvale: As close to a Hill Elf capital of culture as any might claim, Hearthvale is famed for its poetry halls, seasonal feasts, and community-led choirs. The village is centered on a living stone amphitheater, and its songs echo well beyond the hills.
  • Grelin’s Crown: Built atop a wind-battered peak, Grelin’s Crown is a sanctuary for mystics and skywatchers nestled in the ancient ruins of a Mountain Elf Citadel. The ancient runes here are believed to mark the stars’ alignment, and sages gather for sky-lit councils. Its guard tower shines with silver flame during moments of crisis.
  • Maerlin Hollow: A lush valley of orchards and mineral springs, Maerlin Hollow produces the Hill Elves’ finest healers and herbalists. Its apothecaries blend root and ritual to craft salves, and its caretakers often serve as battlefield medics and spiritual guides.
  • Thorncrag: A windswept shelf of basalt and briar, Thorncrag is infamous for producing unyielding warriors. Its harsh environment is a crucible for shieldbearers, and its inhabitants train in brutal terrain to embody Hill Elf tenacity.
  • Caerwyn’s Stead: Caerwyn’s Stead is a village of family oaths and stonebound kinships. Built around a sacred hall of lineages, it is where Hill Elf elders convene to bless unions, resolve disputes, and invoke the ancient pacts that still bind Elven kind.

Wood Elf Settlements

  • Velin'thalas: Perched in the highest canopies of an ancient forest, Velin’thalas is hidden from all but the keenest eye. Its pathways are formed from living branches, and its lorekeepers still speak to the trees. It is said that the wind here carries the memories of the First Grove.
  • Dawnbough Glade: Caught in a permanent twilight where morning dew clings to every leaf, this grove thrives on music, storytelling, and the exuberant dances of seasonal festivals. The Glade serves as both a commune and a sanctuary of joy.
  • Thistledown Vale: A thorn-wrapped hollow known for its cunning scouts and humor-laced diplomacy. Trickery is an artform here, often used to disarm foes or humble outsiders with gentle ridicule.
  • Mosswater Run: Built upon the mossy banks of a slow-moving river, this commune is half-drowned in mist and mystery. Its druids whisper to the spirits of the fen and train amphibious beasts unknown elsewhere.
  • Teyrien Watch: Atop a rocky outcrop in the borderlands of Kelt, this fortified grove is a bastion of vigilance. Its warriors are among the most hardened of the clan, keeping watch for threats rising from the wastes beyond.
  • Silverpine Reach: High in the frostbitten evergreens of the north, Silverpine teaches its people silence and stillness. Snow muffles every step, and archers here strike as shadows under moonlight.
  • Elaren Hollow: Beneath the roots of an elder tree, Elaren glows with fungal light and the hum of buried power. It is a place for healers, bone-singers, and those who commune with ancestral spirits.
  • Winderlain: A cliffside outpost battered by winds from the sea, its residents have laughter in their hearts and blades at their hips. The gales shape both their mood and their movements—quick, sharp, and full of surprise.
  • Ashgrove Hollow: Once razed in the Age of Chaos, Ashgrove was reborn through effort and ceremony. Its trees bear both fruit and fire-scarred bark, and every citizen knows the weight and worth of rebuilding.

Mixed Settlements

  • Glenmyr: Nestled beside the Singing River, Glenmyr is a village born of shared harvests and communal song. Mixed clans live side by side, and its great hall hosts festivals where Wood Elf drums, Hill Elf horns, and High Elf lyres blend in radiant harmony. Elders here speak of a time when unity was survival, and they uphold that creed to this day.
  • Tranquil Hollow: Shrouded in gentle fog and situated between forest and meadow, Tranquil Hollow is a retreat for scholars, mystics, and those seeking peace. High Elf enchanters share their art with Hill Elf sages, while Wood Elf herbalists tend communal gardens. Time moves slower here, and even tempers are gentled by the hush of the wind.
  • Myrenhal: Once a battlefield in the Age of Chaos, Myrenhal rose from the ashes as a place of second chances. Its homes are built from stone and vine, its bridges carved by both magic and manual labor. Known for welcoming outcasts, it is a sanctuary where redemption is more than a dream.
  • Whispergrove: Beneath a dense forest canopy, Whispergrove is veiled in shadow and serenity. Songs pass for speech here, and every settlement path is lined with singing stones. Elves of all lineages come here to learn the art of silence and the power of listening.
  • Cael’thorn: This windswept coastal settlement was born of storm and perseverance. It’s a haven of shipwrights and wave-readers, where Hill Elf tinkerers and Wood Elf sea-hunters coexist beside High Elf scholars mapping the stars. Every citizen learns to read the tide and heed the storm’s warning.
  • Virelin Hold: A fortified cliffside refuge, Virelin Hold was built by Hill Elf shieldbearers but now houses warriors of all clans who have sworn a shared oath. It stands as a military bastion and neutral training ground, where honor and defense bind the Elves tighter than blood.
  • Starfall Fen: A luminous marsh where a fallen star once landed, Starfall Fen glows faintly even at midnight. The local Elves harvest alchemical waters and strange flora from the fen’s depths. The settlement is also a place of pilgrimage, where Elves come to meditate upon destiny and the unknown.
  • Elarion’s Gate: At the edge of a canyon split by ancient magic cast during the Age of Chaos, Elarion’s Gate stands as both monument and mystery. Named for the elven explorer who first crossed the chasm—and vanished within it—the settlement grew around a shimmering bridge of unknown origin that spans the divide. Uniquely positioned in Kelt, the city has become a nexus of cooperation, hosting Elves from all three clans alongside Human settlers and even a small Dwarven enclave. High Elves study the bridge’s residual energies, Hill Elves fortify its defenses, Wood Elves monitor the deep canyon paths, while Humans and Dwarves contribute through trade, masonry, and diplomacy.
  • Thornmere: On the edge of a mirror-still lake stands Thornmere, a haven for thinkers and sentinels. Its reeds conceal ancient secrets and its towers gleam like crystal under moonlight. Here, sentries are poets and scholars bear arms, ever watching but never unkind.
  • Solareth: A radiant plateau basking in sunlight nearly all year, Solareth is a city of enlightenment and ideals. Its terraces are tiled with mosaic murals, and its halls echo with debates on philosophy and arcane theory. The settlement is a cultural beacon, where Elves gather to renew their purpose and celebrate the future.
