Disable Device is used for both lockpicking and removing traps.
Usage
Using the Disable Device skill and targeting a locked or trapped container will generate the Disable Device Gump as shown below:
- Success Chance - Displays your success chance for attempting to pick a lock or remove a trap
- Skill Required - Displays the minimum skill required to attempt picking a lock
- Trigger Chance - Displays the chance a trap will be triggered upon failing to remove it
- Automatic Lockpicking - Toggles automatic lockpicking on/off; automatic lockpicking will automatically loop additional lockpicking attempts upon failure
- Automatic Remove Trap - Toggles automatic remove trap on/off; automatic remove trap will automatically loop additional remove trap attempts upon failure
Lockpicking and Remove Trap can still be used in their classic forms for players who wish to avoid the Disable Device gump:
- Double-clicking lockpicks and targeting a locked container can be used for Lockpicking
- Setting a macro for the now unused "Remove Trap" skill can be used to remove traps from containers, while still utilizing your Disable Device skill
Any Class may use perks to improve their skillcap in Disable Device through selecting Skill Research. Keep in mind that some classes natively have access to this skill. Skill Research only improves your cap. Training the skill is still required after the perk point has been spent.
