Pet Collection System (IN DEVELOPMENT)

The Pet Collection System allows players to add and manage a personal collection of pets linked directly to their character. Instead of managing pets the standard way through the use of stable tickets at the Stablemaster NPC, players are able to store a list of bonded pets which they are then able to call(summon) or dismiss at will.

Pet Classes

There are four main pet classes as follows:

  • Critters – Cosmetic companions.
  • Mounts – Standard rideable mounts.
  • Storage Pets - Pack animals.
  • Beasts – Tameable creatures. Restricted to Ranger and Druid.

Max Pet Count:

Pet count is restricted to a set number of slots per pet class, which increases with player level:

  • Level 1 - 1 Slot
  • Level 5 - 2 Slots
  • Level 10 - 3 Slots
  • Level 15 - 4 Slots
  • Level 20 - 5 Slots

Usage:

The Pet System gump can be opened through the context menu when single-clicking your character. As a macro-friendly alternative to the gump interface, the following text commands are implemented:

  • ]CallPet <pid> - Calls a specific Pet ID
  • ]DismissPet <pid> - Dismiss a specific Pet ID
  • ]Pets - Opens the pet gump

Note: Pet ID is displayed as a system message every time a pet is called.

FAQ:

1. Can I only add bonded creatures to the pet collection system?

Yes. All creatures must be bonded prior to adding them to the pet collection system.

2. Can I call the same pet more than once?

No. Pets may not be called multiple times to generate more than one.

3. Is it possible to re-claim my saved pet as a stable ticket or base creature?

No. Once added to the pet collection system your pet no longer exists as a base creature, it cannot be transferred to another player and the only way to remove it from your collection is to abandon it entirely.

4. As a non-tamer, can I add Beasts to my pet collection?

No. Only Rangers and Druids have the option to add Beasts.

5. What are the roleplay implications?

This system works a lot like a Ranger’s Animal Companion in spirit. How you flavor it is entirely up to you. Maybe you whistle for a loyal creature that’s been trailing just out of sight. Maybe you call your steed through the use of a magical spell. Whether it’s mundane, magical, or something in between, you can easily shape it into whatever feels immersive for your character’s story(with just a bit of imagination).
