The Library
Contribute to the story of Regisfall!
[[The goal is to found a guild that gives every player an opportunity to contribute to the written story of Regisfall. The world offers a rare chance to craft an in‑game telling of its lore that is living, consistent, and collaborative. The Library exists as an outlet for players to be creative, work together, and help each other build something lasting.]]
Mission Statement
The Library exists to gather, preserve, and protect knowledge in the world of Regisfall.
Gather: Seek out lost or rare tomes, uncover forgotten histories, and commission new works from scholars and explorers.
Preserve: Copy, store, restore, and disseminate the Library’s growing collection so knowledge is never lost again.
Protect: Curate dangerous or sacred works, restrict volatile magics, and pass down understanding only to those prepared to wield it responsibly.
Organizational Structure
The Library is a top‑down hierarchy, but it is fundamentally service‑oriented. Every rank above exists to teach, mentor, and guide those below. Advancement is not about power, although power may come with it. It is about responsibility, wisdom, and the ability to pass down understanding.
Teaching is the Library’s highest calling.
Leadership and Ranks
The Sovereign is the guiding hand of the Library. They set long-term direction, resolve disputes over knowledge, and determine which secrets must be curated or sealed.
The Bastion serves as the living shield of the Library. They oversee defense, safeguard the institution, and ensure the Library’s survival in times of crisis.
The Archivist is the architect of order within the Library’s collection. They oversee cataloging, magical indexing, and the training of Scholars in preservation.
The Two Paths
Librarians are restricted to those with arcane ability, but anyone may contribute to the Library’s collection.
Seekers are initiates who venture into the world to reclaim knowledge. They explore ruins, document the people of the world, and retrieve rare lore. Seekers learn by doing and eventually by returning to teach what they have found.
Scholars are typically established wizards devoted to understanding and preserving knowledge. They restore damaged works, teach magical theory, host lectures, and produce new research. They form the intellectual backbone of the Library.
Keepers are the guardians of the Library’s deepest mysteries. They oversee restricted and hazardous texts, scrutinize and refine the collection, and train others in how to approach dangerous or unrefined knowledge safely.
Guardians may have any background and serve as the protectors of the Library and its collection.
Vanguards are field protectors who often accompany seekers on expeditions. They clear hostile ruins, secure unstable magical sites, and stand on the front lines when lost lore is uncovered.
Sentinels are veteran defenders of the Library and its collection. They patrol halls, watch gates, enforce internal security, and teach younger guards the fundamentals of vigilance.
Wardens are elite masters of defense. They protect the Keepers, Sovereign, and Archivist directly. They secure hazardous artifacts, maintain the Library’s defenses, and lead training hunts to strengthen the Guard’s resolve.
Advancement within the Library
