Knights of the Mist:
Alignment: Chaotic Good.
Symbol: A silver sword wreathed in drifting mist.
Headquarters: Knights of the Mist Keep, outside of Mercadia boarders.
Motto: “Justice needs no permission.”
The Knights of the Mist are an unconventional order of warriors, idealists and wanderers who uphold the cause of good beyond the reach of laws and politics.
The Order accepts volunteeers from all the civilized races. Misunderstood outcasts, exiles and other men & women that does not quite fit the stern ruleset that is doctrine upon them often find the Order to be a blessing and a home.
The Knights of the Mist hold that righteousness should never be constrained by bureaucracy, and that compassion and freedom are worth more than the approval of any Crown, Elders or Warlord. To the Knights, laws are Tools - useful when they serve the greater good, discarded when they do not.
Operating beyond the borders of the Mercadian Empire, the Knights of the Mist often appear in borderlands, trade routes, and villages long neglected by the empire’s reach. To travelers, villagers and civilians they are a most welcomed sight - to serve as protectors and defenders of the weak - against bandits, beasts, and corruption.
In recent times - the presence of the Order has been lacking. Many believing the Order to have crumbled, others that their leadership had died for various reasons, mostly old age - and that none has been up to the task to carry the Torch onwards.
Just untill recently - the banners are once again hanging from the Keep walls of Dun Seniarsma. Torches are lit and soldiers are seen patrolling the walls and the surrounding area. A new figure has been spotted leading the recent patrols, and viewed as the Order's spokesperson. A young and determined human druidess by the name of Neeva. Under her leadership, the Order has grown in number and influence, and its members are now seen more frequently within Edana, the heart of Mercadia, as well as throughout the countryside. The Knights of the Mist once again proudly displays their tabards and colours.
Seemingly through Neeva’s reforms, the Order has been given new strength and unity - but they have also drawn attention from powerful circles, both forces of good and evil - curious and wary of what the Knights of the Mist may become.
